However, when Robert gives a suggestion, the frustration fades away and replaced by fluidity. The narrator has a challenge of finding the most appropriate words for the task, something that frustrates him. In this story, the narrator is seen trying again and again but fails every time he does so. The urgency is what encourages the artist to create the art. A trace of urgency is usually present when an artist wants to create art. This shows that the narrator is expressing what he is seeing by making something that resembles it. The narrator is wondering how he can describe the cathedral and then states that his life depends on it (Carver 10: 3). The process of making art is symbolic in some way. In drawing the cathedral, there is also some symbolism in it. It is also a worshiping place and a historical artifact. In real life, a Cathedral is a social place where different people gather.
